Skiing in Pamporovo, Bulgaria

SkiingThere are 29 km of runs for alpine disciplines. The gentle profile of the mountain with its rounded slopes and summits makes Pamporovo particularly suitable for beginners. But there are also difficult ski runs like the Giant Slalom run which is an excellent exercise for every skiing expert.

All ski runs are safe guarded and maintained in a very good condition. More than 100 highly qualified ski instructors, fluent in different languages are ready to teach both beginners and advanced skiers. Classes are in five difficulty levels, from A to E, and can be taken individually or in groups. The duration of the different skiing classes is between 3 and 12 days, 2 of 4 hours daily. Cross-country skiing classes are organized in two difficulty levels. All course graduates receive ski-certificates.

The ski runs are located between 1926 and 1450 m above the sea level on the northern, eastern and western slopes of The Snejanka peak. All major ski runs start from the peak of the mountain, where the TV tower is located. Great off-piste skiing and snowboarding is available in this resort, however we recommend using a local guide when going off-piste. Contact us >

skiBeginners

The splendid ski school at Pamporovo is internationally renowned, and is geared to provide the best possible start for beginners. There's tuition for four hours a day, six days a week, with ski fitting, class arranging etc. The school meets in the Malina region, just a few minutes bus drive from the centre of the resort. There are several drag lifts on the nursery slopes, but beginners will be heading for the higher slopes on the mountain long before the week is out.

skiIntermediates

The 20km of marked piste really suit the intermediate skier. The triple chairlift from the Malina station to the top of Snezhanka peak can handle over 1,800 skiers an hour, which makes short work of any queues. Alternatively, a single chair runs to the middle station, from where the new four man lift runs up to the peak.

Advanced

Advanced skiers can take the drag lift from the middle station which runs up the side of "The Wall". This is Pamporovo's most exciting run, difficult, steep and mogulled, and there's an international slalom too.
